Called by the European press "the dream couple", the partnership between rider Christine Stuckelberger and Gauguin was world famous, proving the stallion to be willing, sensitive, and intelligent in his nature.

In 1996 Jean-Jacques Funfschilling lost his beloved Gauguin de Lully. But thanks to Mr. Funfschilling's foresight, a limited amount of frozen semen is available in Europe and North America to approved mares.

Before his death, Gauguin de Lully was nominated to the Plus de Dressage list of stallions recommended for dressage breeding by a panel of experts including Wolfgang Niggli and Margit Otto-Crepin.

Gauguin de Lully has sired champion foals in both Europe and the United States.

Gauguin de Lully comes from the most prosperous Swedish blood. His sire, Chagall, has produced several International Dressage Competitors. His dam, Gasparonna, an elite mare and half-sister to Dressage Gold Medalist, Piaff, is the dam of approved stallions, combined training, and dressage champions.
